Jacey Blue Renner, received her MFA in Creative Writing from Lesley University and holds a BA in English and Political Science from the University of New Mexico. While at the University of New Mexico, she served as poetry editor for Conceptions Southwest, wrote culture pieces for The Daily Lobo, and was an active chartering member of the Phi Alpha Delta pre-law fraternity.
In 2007, she was the recipient of the Harwood Art Center's Emerging Artist Fund's Marion & Kathryn Crissey Award. That same year, her poem "The Beginning of Which Will Not Leave Me in Peace," was selected by the Albuquerque Tribune as winner of its Poetry in the Paper Contest. A 2011 Colrain Manuscript Conference alum, some of her poems have been published in the anthology Looking Back to Place, Brink Magazine, Porchlight: A Literary Magazine, and Connotations Press.
While her primary area of interest lies in the study of war and its emotional translation into poetry and prose, drawn from and encouraged by her life traveling with an Air Force spouse, most recently her writing has taken her into the freelance world where she has contributed regularly to Moxy Magazine, The Santa Fe Writer's Project, and She's Self-Employed.
Temporarily back in the Southwest, it is her hope to return to the East Coast she loves so well, soon.
